Challenge yourself to jumpstart into a new healthy lifestyle. This event is for the month of MAY. SIGN-UPS will be between April 15th-25th at the White Oak FitWorks. Cost: $49 This includes: 1 month membership to all FitWorks locations in Ohio. Bootcamps All group fitness classes FOUR personal training sessions Weigh ins/Body fat testing/Support This is not a weight loss competition. This has been an annual volunteer event for the past few years. Much progress has been made each year. We have been working on the trails all winter trying to prepare them for the spring and summer volunteer events which will later produce a 5k trail run in the Fall! Currently we have volunteer events scheduled for April 19-20 (Earth Day weekend) and June 7-8. We will be building another bridge at the end of Ohio Ave, graveling, and some grading work. We are currently in the process of removing hazardous trees to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable hike in the woods. Our ultimate this year is to make the trails usable all year long by spreading gravel. We would also like to connect the bordering streets to the park by restoring some of the trails that we were once used to enter the park. We will be mailing letters to those neighbors in the coming weeks to give them an update on the progress of this project. We need an all hands on deck to make all this happen. Please rsvp if you wouldn't mind making a difference by creating some walkable trails for future enjoyment of not only our group, but for everyone else that may live nearby or that may visit the park in the future. This is one of the best workouts that I have ever had. It is a very intense instructor led group fitness class that last for 1 hour. It is a workout that seems to meet everyone at their personal fitness level regardless of the condition they may be in. The class starts with everyone doing some warm up exercises, then moves to a rotating series of workouts through a predetermined time frame. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to get a complete body workout and burn calories at the same time. Be sure to come a few minutes early to register for the free class. We incorporate the CrossFit Philosophy of a total body workout that empowers you through a community of people and trainers. However, we took out the barbells, gymnastic rings, ropes and the young athlete studs that make this environment intimidating. Sunday Ultimate Pickup is weekly, year around, and has been going on for some time (years). Please join us for this friendly pickup game with all levels and ages playing. It is very often co-ed, all depending on who shows up. Bring a white shirt & a dark shirt [grey is neither] and cleats if you got them [you'll want them]. Sometimes in the winter Oak Park gets too wet and muddy so we move a few blocks south to Grove Park, 170 Crescent Ave. Pickup Ultimate usually consist of short games to 7, mixing up teams to find balance, and playing until everyone's had their fill.
