What we're about

This group will come together to talk about the merits of Universal Basic Income (UBI) being implemented in Australia. Proponents and opponents alike are invited to exchange views about what is a scheme that is gaining traction around the world and in Australia's Eastern states. There is a need to raise awareness about this concept in South Australia, as there's only about 1 in 4 people have even heard of it. If you come away impressed enough about the potential of UBI, there is a campaign called Unconditional Basic Income on display, which you can sign for, if you please. Fishermen's Wharf Market

Hello members, in an effort to gain more traction for UBI, I'm doing the Port Adelaide Fishermen's Wharf Markets every Sunday indefinitely. I'' be setting up with information about Basic Income and a banner or 2 and facility for people to sign my petition. You could come to the markets for the many featured items that are sold here, one of Adelaide's premier weekend markets from 9 am-5pm, or if you want to join me in a chair behind my table to chat and learn more about UBI, I'm leaving that open to you between 10.30 and 12 midday, but you can drop around anytime. I'm easy to find, near the main Eastern entrance. There is a proviso in place - if it's too hot, if it's 38° or higher I won't be attending, just like most marketeers - there is an iron roof which is ok up to about 36°. The market closes altogether if the forecast is for >=40°. It will become an ideal venue from about March onwards. I hope to see you there. David Upton
