What we’re about
This group is designed to bring people of all ages and abilities together to have adventures, outdoors and indoors. Our event organizers post meetups to enjoy what Oklahoma and surrounding states have to offer. Events will range from outdoor adventures including hiking, camping, and biking and indoor adventures such as dinners and museums, as well as other unique events as they come up.
Note: By RSVP'ing to meetups, you acknowledge that event hosts are volunteers, you are responsible for yourself and your actions, and the group will not be held liable for potential injuries. I want to make sure this group is a fun and safe environment for everyone but there are inherent risks associated with outdoor activities. Happy adventuring!

Hike at Liberty Lake (Near Guthrie)
Liberty Lake, off I35 and Seward Road, Guthrie, OK, USEnd time is unknown. There is a CASH fee of $3 per car. Bring exact change as there is just a drop off box. The 6.4 mile trail is roughly flat and encircles the lake. I couldn’t find a good address … map on is accurate. For trail details [Click here](Liberty Lake Trail on AllTrails https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oklahoma/liberty-lake-trail--4?sh=1lkvtm&utm_medium=trail_share&utm_source=alltrails_virality)g
It’s not letting me save the address so 7413 S Academy Road. It is correct if I put that address in my iPhone. Basically exit on Seward Road from I35. Go west. It eventually turns into a gravel/dirt road. Eventually the road forces you to make a right turn. There is a noticeable sign. It’s where we hiked before .1 attendee
Snow Creek Ski Trip
Snow Creek Ski Area, 1 Snow Creek Drive, Weston, MO, US**VERY IMPORTANT: Do NOT book your hotels and equipment yet. There have been times where this resort has been closed at the end of January due to unseasonable warmth. In that case, we will just delay the trip to the end of February. The Epic Day passes are good for the entire season once purchased. I will see what the snow base for the resort looks like around mid January. I will also be checking out the 10-day weather forecast on January 20th. If the snow base looks good, and the 10-day weather forecast looks like it won't lead to rapid snowmelt, then I will post on here on January 20th giving the green light for you guys to book your hotels and equipment rentals.**
Winter will here before you know it, so get in on the fun of a ski adventure this January! We will be going to Snow Creek Ski Area just outside of Kansas City in Weston, Missouri. For beginners needing lessons, the best time to get one will be during their 4 p.m. slot. I've included a link below that will take you to the lessons page. Lessons are not yet available for January 30th, so please check back regularly on the ski-lessons link below so you can schedule a lesson for the 4 p.m. time slot on January 30th before they sell out. Because of this 4 p.m. lesson time, we will meet at my apartment at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 30th and carpool up together directly to Snow Creek. Bear in mind that my apartment is in Tulsa, so please leave OKC or the surrounding area early enough to get to my aprartment if you plan on carpooling. Leaving Tulsa at 10 a.m. will give us plenty of time to check in, get our gear, put on our gear and get the beginners to their lesson on time. If you plan on traveling separately, and do not intend to carpool with us, please let me know. After we get done skiing for the day, we'll go check into our hotels, have dinner and settle down for the night.
I will be staying at the Motel 6 near the Kansas City International Airport. I know Motel 6 isn't for everyone, so I've included links to some other hotels that are on the same street as the Motel 6 I'll be staying at. The next day, we'll meet up at 9 a.m. at the Motel 6, go have breakfast somewhere and then head out to Snow Creek for our second ski day. After we've had enough skiing for the day, we'll go relax back at our hotels, have dinner and settle in for the night. On Sunday, it will be time to head back home, but there's no rush or strict time table for when we need to leave to head home. I think it'll be fine just as long as we're back before dark.
I've provided links for getting your Epic Day Passes and renting gear at Snow Creek. For the Epic Day Passes, you will have to create an Epic account before you can buy a pass. After you have created your Epic account and clicked on the Epic Day Pass link below, scroll down until you see the navy blue portion of the webpage. Then, choose the 22 resorts option, choose "no" under the peak dates option, select "2" under the choose your days option and finally the number of skiers option will be below that. If you have any questions or encounter any struggles, don't hesitate to contact me at (918) 906-7803. Once you have booked your Epic Day Pass, please text me, and I will give you the address to my apartment, so you'll know where to go to get to the carpooling. I can't wait to hit the slopes and shred the gnar with you guys!

Trip to Caddo Lake (Texas/Louisiana border)
Caddo Lake State Park, 245 Park Road 2, Karnack, TX, USThe location is about 5 hours from OKC. I was going to leave on a Friday around 3 pm and come back Sunday. Open to carpooling if it makes sense. Part of the lake goes into Louisiana. Much of the lake is like the referenced photo. There are full cabins/rustic cabins there as well as tent sites. In the past when I visited lake tours were available (make no guarantee that it will be available when we come though).
I have reserved screened shelter #11. If interested in sharing -> I would be willing. You would need to bring anything you would bring for staying in a tent just no tent. There is electricity in the shelter. If it gets really cold, I was going to block the screens with a tarp and use a space heater. If interested in sharing the shelter, I would want a small deposit to show seriousness that you are actually going to show. Make comment in event indicating interest. Flushable toilets and shower is nearby.
You can also reserve your own shelter, cabin, tent site or stay outside the park.
*** Please note *** The reason why I want to visit this place is because on Saturday I want to go into Lousiana and visit “Driskill Mountain”. It’s not much of a hike in my understanding. If wanting to go to area -> hang out at the lake or come w me to the highest point in Louisiana.

Camping + Stargazing at Black Mesa State Park
Black Mesa State park, 11546 North Lake Road, kenton, OK, USLet’s camp at the very edge of Oklahoma, where the sky actually remembers how dark it’s supposed to be!!! Black Mesa State Park has the darkest skies of any state park in Oklahoma, making it a magnet for astronomers, photographers and anyone who’s ever looked up and thought, “wow.” This weekend is about slowing down, exploring and enjoying big landscapes by day and even bigger skies by night.
Tentative Itinerary (flexible):
Friday: Arrive, set up camp and settle in. If you’re into night photography or stargazing, we’ll scope out good viewing spots once it gets dark (conditions permitting, of course).
Saturday: Sleep in as long as your body allows. Late morning, we’ll hike to the top of Black Mesa, about a 3–4 hour round trip, with plenty of time to soak in the views. Click here for details about the hike to the high point (distance/elevation gain). After lunch, for those who want to explore, options include the Three State Marker or a short drive to the Three Sisters rock formations. If you’re feeling ambitious, Capulin National Monument is about two hours away on a slow, scenic drive — perfect for stretching the adventure. Late afternoon is for rest, food and doing absolutely nothing if that’s your preference. Once night falls, we’ll regroup for stargazing under some of the clearest skies around.
Sunday: Pack up camp and head home, tired in the best way.
Important Notes: All participants are responsible for their own safety, actions, and equipment. The organizer is not responsible for accidents, injuries or property damage. You must make your own campsite reservations. You can reserve spots here: Black Mesa State Park Camping Reservations
This trip is relaxed, flexible and meant to be fun. Come for the hiking, the stars, the rock formations or just to sit by camp and breathe different air. All are valid.6 attendees
