Hi allI am stopping off in nelson for a month or two while on my travels around New Zealand. I have a fair amount of open water swimming (coastal and river) experience and have missed the group swim atmosphere while being away from home. I hope it’s possible to come and join some of your open water sessions the only thing is I didn’t bring my wetsuit half way round the world with me and very rarely swim skins in winter (not that mad!). Is there anywhere selling on second hand suits or would anyone be willing to lend a suit? I’m 5’4 and UK size 10
Hello fellow swimmers, I need your advice! How are we feeling about sea swimming during lockdown? I would like to continue (alone, obviously) & as a solo activity in the ocean this poses essentially zero risk to the public in terms of spreading the virus. I do however, acknowledge that it is slightly riskier than walking in terms of the potential to need help from emergency services. I am planning to swim much closer to shore than usual & only go out for a short time when the weather is nice. I am fit, healthy & confident swimming by myself, and also think this sport is less riskier than mountain biking (which I also do & conservative riding seems to be acceptable during lockdown). Thoughts?
Hi, everyone. Just back in Nelson and looking forward to seeing everyone. Unfortunately can't make tomorrow, due to a prior commitment. Is it every Tuesday at 10, and are the Sunday swims happening, or do they start in Feb?
Swimming Wednesday, 10.00am from beach near Beach Cafe.
Not a swim, FREE info evening 27 January at Torpedo7 Nelson for peeps interested in SUP https://www.facebook.com/events/2851832128170326/ ?
Great news Fiona got her watch back ??
Hi. Holidaying in Tahunanui from 6-13th Jan then across to Pohara for a week. Would love to hear if any sea swimming happening & you are happy for me to join you. I've taken note of the Thursday night swim & the Eyebright Mile.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again when we return mid January!
I just learned to dive, not long, I hope I can ask everyone when I meet different.
