The Grotto of Gaming Goodness (Business office location, will provide address by email to RSVP)

Anaheim · Anaheim, CA

What we're about

Pining for the days of classic, old-school first edition Dungeons & Dragons? Have you always wanted to join a gaming group that didn't involve thirty other people in a loud room? Do you prefer meaningful stories and characters over an endless litany of numbers and rules?! Looking for a character-based, long-term campaign with a small group? Then fret no more, noble adventurer!

We're all about old-school gaming goodness for small groups (3-5 players), in a fun and safe setting for all experience levels and backgrounds, with music, sound fx and dynamic maps. Storywise, we're running custom-built Adventure Modules based on the bard Cain Lethellon's call to adventurers, set in the small village of Riverthrow. It's completely modular, once your character completes Module 1, then they can embark upon Module 2 with the same group or another group if they prefer. And when the inspiration strikes, we'll also occasionally do one-shot adventures based on classic Dungeons & Dragons adventure modules and dungeon crawls.

For our rulebook/system, we use Swords & Wizardry, which is essentially First Edition Dungeons & Dragons in all it's infinite glory and especially suited towards beginners. There's absolutely no obligation to read as we'll cover it in game, but if you'd like to check it out in advance, you can download a PDF ( for free (or if you'd like to buy the actual book, you can get it at Frog God Games (

Our first intro sessions (Module 1) are completely free, if you'd like to join a regular campaign group however, we'd ask for a $19 contribution to help with the cost of the office lease, we hope you'll join us on an Adventure!

**Given that our meetups are small groups (3-5) at a private business instead of 10-20 members at a public event, we'd like to ask prospective members to please have a first name and a real photo in their profile if they'd like to join - thanks!**
