The weather is finally cooling so hopefully by Dec. 1st we will have some snow or rainfall and the water level will be up. Hike will start at 7:00 AM. Please show up early for parking and introductions. A National Forest Service Adventure parking pass is required for parking at the trail head.

The Bridge to Nowhere aka The Bride to Nowhere ( dont ask till after the hike, its a two beer story ) was built to connect the San Gabriel Valley to Wrightwood. The flood of 1938, washed out all of the construction and the project was abandoned. Now the bridge has become an icon and a must do hike (at least once!) for all hikers in So. California.

About the hike: This hike requires several river crossings and some boulder hopping. PLEASE PLAN FOR AN ALL DAY HIKE! Although we are only going 9 miles round trip, the size of the group, the water level and the boulder hopping slows down our pace. We will hike to the bridge, maybe play in the water, have lunch then return the way we came. If you have never done this hike, join us. It is a lot of fun, especially with a group! Bring: AT LEAST 2 LITERS OF WATER!! THERE IS NO SHADE AT ALL ON THIS HIKE! Wear water sandals (or an old pair of shoes) and socks to keep the small rocks from hurting your feet, a hat, sunscreen, repellant, snacks, lunch, poles if you use them and extra shoes for after the hike. Your feet will get wet! You can get a National Forest Service Adventure Pass at places like REI, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Dick's Sporting Goods, Sportmart, Sport Chalet, or Sports Authority. You might want to call first to find out if they have any in stock. You can purchase a $5.00 day pass or a $30.00 annual pass.
