We will be traveling to Saugerties, New York, in the Catskills, to photograph the HITS-on-the-Hudson Horse show. Equestrian events will be held throughout the day in several different rinks that will offer many outstanding photographic opportunities. The stables are located within a short walk of the competition and these areas typically allow open access to spectators and photographers allowing then to walk through and take pictures.
SPECTATOR PARKING & ENTRANCE:
Gates D or E only. Parking is free May through September
Car Pooling
For those interested in car pooling, we will meet at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 3rd, in the parking lot of the Mahwah Sheraton. Please indicate in your RSVP if you are interested in car pooling and if you would like a ride or are willing to drive and offer a ride to other participants.
THE FACILITY:
HITS-on-the-Hudson, Saugerties, New York
The HITS-on-the-Hudson equestrian facility is nestled at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, just one mile outside of the village of Saugerties. The show grounds feature 10 different competition rings, including a Grand Prix ring, a Main Hunter ring, two jumper rings, four hunter rings, an equitation ring and six separate schooling areas. Spectator seating is available at every ring and in the VIP Pavilion, which overlooks the Grand Prix ring and Main Hunter ring. Spectator parking is located off the Washington Avenue entrances at Gates D or E.
REFRESHMENTS:
HITS-on-the-Hudson offers four options for food and beverages on-site: The main HITS Restaurant Pavilion, the new Diamond Mills Cafe, the HITS Bar and Grill and the HITS Snack Bar (near the Hunter Arena). The Restaurant offers full service breakfast and lunch menus with dozens of delicious choices including a wide variety of made-to-order meals. The Diamond Mills Cafe offers delicious pastries made at the new riverside hotel in the village as well as ice cream, panini sandwiches, espresso and other coffee options and more. The HITS Bar and Grill serves up pizza and cold beer in a spacious air-conditioned lounge. Spectators can grab some lunch and find a grassy spot on the berms while watching some of the world's best show jumping with the entire family right here in the Hudson Valley.
