This event combines exercise and music! The first half of the walk involves a 2.5 km walk along the Mountain Brow. Once we reach the park near Upper Gage we will continue 2.5 km back along Concession Street. Those who want to keep up the pace and go straight back to the cars can do so. Those who wish to meander through Concession Street can enjoy: Sidewalk Sounds: Warm summer evenings, spectacular sunsets off the mountain brow, family friendly community inviting everyone to come out and enjoy FREE live music performances from Hamilton's music scene! Our fourth annual SIDEWALK SOUNDS - we invite you to stroll our sidewalks, browse the amazing collection of local Hamilton vendors and rediscover the fabulous businesses and services that make up our shopping corridor on Concession Street. • What we'll do Robin McKee is the man behind Historical Perceptions and The Stories in the Stones. Robin has done extensive work and research as a Hamilton historian. Robin is a frequent presenter on topics of historical and heritage interest related to the Hamilton community. “THE STORIES IN THE STONES” free public tours of the Hamilton Cemetery led by Robin McKee. For this event the theme is " HAMILTON 1ST TOUR" The tour is free, but DONATIONS to Robin are welcome. Tour begins at 11am and is approx 2 hours. • What to bring • Important to know
Historian and author, Bill King, will be leading this tour. (If he signs up I will make him the Event Organizer - unfortunately I won't be able to attend.) He has put a lot of time and energy into leading these tours. If you would be kind enough to make a donation to him for researching and holding these tours Cassandra would be grateful. :) Tour description TBA. Meet at the Sir John A. The pre-concert performance (6:15 to 7:00) will feature Mariachi Fuego, the hottest new Mariachi Band to hit Southern Ontario. This band offers a refreshing twist of fun and excitement while still maintaining a high degree of respect in their execution of traditional mariachi repertoire. Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum Enjoy a memorable performance every Sunday evening during the months of July & August. A variety of talented musicians will be performing at the band shell on the grounds of Fieldcote Museum. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and find a spot to be entertained.
