What we're about

The Adventurists Scooter Group hosts group rides for experienced scooterists with advanced riding skills. Our rides are technically demanding, require stamina, long-distance endurance, adherence to group riding best-practices, and a healthy appetite for fun and adventure.

If full days of twisty roads, mountain and canyon riding, wide open spaces, and getting as far away as possible from congested city traffic sounds like your kind of a good time, then we're the group for you.

To Become An ASG Member You Need:

a valid drivers license with M1 motorcycle endorsement
insurance for the scooter you are riding as required by CA Stale law.
a 150cc+ scooter that is capable of all day sustained 55mph (real 55mph not speedo indicated 55mph)
a MINIMUM of 1 year AND 6000 miles of riding experience
advanced riding skills and an intimate knowledge of group riding best practices
a MINIMUM of 10 previous group rides — including 3 twisty canyon rides and 3 100+ mile distance rides

You also need to download and read our Welcome Pack (http://adventurists.scootergroup.org/downloads/ASG_WelcomePack_2015.pdf). It contains important information about ASG group policy, group ride protocol, our liability release, and your ASG Member Information Card. Please read everything, agree to it (if you want to ride), and complete your Member Information Card.

For your own safety and the safety of the group, please be honest in assessing your riding experience and ability.

And that's all there is to it! Thanks for reading, and thanks for joining. Here's to many happy, twisty, turny, adventurous miles.

I look forward to riding together soon.

If At This Time You Don't Meet Our Membership Requirements...

That’s OK, just go ride some more! Being declined is not banishment for life. We encourage you join our friends at one of the many other local area scooter groups to gain additional experience on their more easy going group rides then reapply when you're ready for our more adventurous rides.
We also recommend that everyone get a copy of "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough. It is a must read for every 2-wheel rider and has a wealth of information on correct technique and group riding best practices.
