100 Black Hikers 10 Miler Hike - POSTPONED TILL SPRING
POSTPONED TILL SPRING "Black Friday" and were inviting everyone to join us for this day outdoors. Because we think spending time outdoors is more important we have been encouraging our friends and family to participate in our outdoor activities for the past 30 years. We spend most of our time indoors. Starting at computers. Heck, you're on one right now. But what if we looked up rather than down? Felt the cool breeze rustling through the trees rather than the cold slickness of our screens? More and more studies show the value of spending time outside. And we're not talking major excursions, but small journeys to your local park. Perhaps a park prescription is just what we all need. COST: $48 per person * Cost covers roundtrip transportation only TO REGISTER GO TO www.Goombay.net. ** All payments are non-refundable but can be transferred to another person attending this event. HIKE DETAILS: * We will board a charter bus on Friday, Nov 23rd at 7:00am from the Morgan blvd. Metro Park & Ride (300 Garret Morgan Blvd. Landover, MD) * The bus will drop us off at Little Hogback Overlook where we will hike the Appalachian Trail for 10 miles * We will stop at the Elkwallow Wayside for lunch * The hike will end at Beahms Gap Overlook and we will board the bus back to DC * The bus will stop in Gainesville for dinner and we should arrive back in MD by 7:00pm ** This hike is for intermediate to advance hikers and the trail is MODERATE TO STRENUOUS at times. Because the bus will meet us at Elkwallow Wayside, hikers will have the opportunity to regroup and if anyone can not make the rest of the hike, they may stay with the bus. We want this to be a positive experience for everyone. A "what to bring" list will be provided after registration but if you have any questions please contact Butch at[masked]

What we're about

The Brother's who LUV Sisters in the DMV started off as a group for men that wanted to participate in activities that attracted black women. It's a group for brothers that love to meet, hang out with, date, have fun and establish friendships with sisters in the DC area.

Since we started in 2009 the group has grown to include women and now our purpose is to bring single brothers and sisters together.
