Dear Agile Data Londoners
Well as mentioned on @agiledatalondon we can now confirm that Russell Jurney has kindly agreed to run a session with us on Thursday 12th October, 6.30pm for 7pm start. We will dedicate the October session to Russell to allow him to share his insights into all things data.
Russell Jurney cut his data teeth in casino gaming, building web apps to analyze the performance of slot machines in the US and Mexico. After dabbling in entrepreneurship, interactive media and journalism, he moved to silicon valley to build analytics applications at scale at Ning, LinkedIn and Hortonworks. He is a self taught visualization software engineer, data engineer, data scientist, writer and most recently, he's becoming a teacher. In addition to applied work building analytics products, he is the principle of Data Syndrome that offers live and video training courses.
Russell is the O'Reilly author of Agile Data Science besides two other titles called Big Data for Chimps and Mapping Big Data http://www.oreilly.com/pub/au/5236
We will split the session into three parts, First session (30 mins), short break, Second session (30 mins) and then Live Q&A plus opportunity for networking
We will arrange refreshments for all attendees
He has kindly agreed to do a book signing on the evening too
So please sign up if you want to attend as we know this session will be popular :)
