Greetings Agilists!

Our group is for everyone who is interested in increasing their agile mindset and practices while networking with like minds. We meet monthly to hear great speakers  and interact with this fun community of folks. We look forward to walking away each month with new tidbits of agile information we can add to our toolbox while expanding the agile community. Come join us!

This meetup is one of several Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Communities of Practice (COPs) that are associated with the Agile Denver organization, a non-profit group which provides support and resources to our community including an array of specialized content, social media, and an annual Mile High Agile conference, all of which can be accessed via our website at https://www.agile-denver.org/. Be sure to visit our website for news, events, recorded content, and opportunities to engage.

Attendees can receive 2 SEU's (Category A - Scrum User Group Event) per meeting toward their Scrum Alliance certification.

Scrum is great for teams, but how can we be more agile at the portfolio level? The Agile Portfolio Game engages you in a full corporate portfolio management scenario. Your mission: Apply agile principles to maximize the value created across multiple scrum teams and product lines.

Bio:
Chris Sims is a certified scrum trainer, agile coach, and recovering C++ developer who helps organizations improve their productivity and happiness.
Chris is the founder of Agile Learning Labs and the co-author of two best-selling scrum books: The Elements of Scrum and Scrum: a Breathtakingly Brief and Agile Introduction. More of his writing can be found on the Agile Learning Labs blog.

Before starting Agile Learning Labs in 2007, Chris made a living in roles such as: scrum master, product owner, engineering manager, project manager, software engineer, musician, and auto mechanic.

Wrangling an Agile transformation can be a daunting task. Leaders know they want the benefits of agility, but don’t know how to get there or what is involved. In this session, David Hawks will teach you how to enable transformation leaders to take ownership of their Agile transformation. You’ll learn how to help leaders build a transformation backlog based on what business outcomes the organization wants to achieve and how to measure transformation progress against those outcomes.

Influencing Without Authority: Jedi Mind Tricks for Coaches with Brad Swanson

Coaches and Scrum Masters face a daunting challenge: how can you change people's behavior when you have no authority over them? We have to change their minds! In this session we will present the results of research into techniques used by the best negotiators, debaters, and even 'vaccine whisperers' to influence and convince others. We will boil that all down into a practical set of techniques you can use to influence your colleagues - or your boss - even if you aren't a Jedi!

He is a member of the Agile Leadership Journey, a global federation of Leadership coaches. Brad has been an Agile practitioner since 1999, is former President of Agile Denver and co-founder of the Mile High Agile conference, and a speaker at international conferences.
