A Language of Problems: using the Cynefin framework to talk about Agile

Details

Why is it so hard to sell Agile? Because it's hard to talk about the problems it solves.

In this session, Sean will share an introduction to Cynefin: a general purpose framework we can use to describe and categorize problems. He will also talk about the properties of four very different types of problem, and strategies for how to solve them. We'll understand when an Agile approach is most effective, and when it's inappropriate, using examples from tech, business, and our daily lives.

If you are trying to understand more about the value that Agile can provide, or if you are trying to become a more persuasive and effective advocate for Agile, we hope you'll find Cynefin as interesting and helpful as I do.

Sean Coleman is a developer with ten years of experience, working with teams and companies of all shapes and sizes, and a background in mathematics and improvised comedy.
