Collaborative problem solving is challenging for teams; as with any activity involving creative thinking, it’s easy for discussions to lose focus and to follow a meandering path resulting in sub-optimal outcomes. So what happens when team members are collaborating remotely? Is efficient decision-making even possible?

Enter the Lightning Decision Jam (LDJ). Created by AJ&Smart and inspired by Google Ventures’ Design Sprint, the Decision Jam is a problem-solving process that removes unstructured conversation, enabling teams to reach decisions quickly and democratically.

In this remote hands-on workshop, you will participate in a Decision Jam using Zoom (video conferencing) and Mural (shared whiteboard). You will learn the Decision Jam 10-step process to quickly generate solutions to a shared problem. You will receive the templates used in this workshop and be able to apply this method within your own team.

Whether you are working in web design, product design, a start-up or even a large corporation, this technique will drastically improve how quickly and easily you develop solutions for the many problems your team faces.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • How to solve virtually any problem remotely using the Lightning Decision Jam
  • How to lead your own Decision Jam (including templates used in this session)
  • How to use the Mural digital whiteboard for visual collaboration

TARGET AUDIENCE
Product professionals who want to improve the efficiency of their team’s problem solving and decision-making process.
