Retrospectives are a discipline used by lean and agile teams to pause and reflect on outcomes and activities from a predefined time frame, and identify actions for improvement. Retrospectives are wired into the agile mindset.

We join with other communities around the globe gathering on February 6th for World Retrospectives Day (http://worldretroday.com/) for our own event. Our APO community will focus on the product angle of this important discipline.

After a lightning fast review of the what, why, and how of retrospectives, we’ll explore the challenges related to the product perspective of retros. Next, we’ll use the Fishbowl dialog technique to explore the topic deeply. We’ll wrap our evening with a fast-paced technique that captures our key learnings (and prizes will be awarded)!

Questions that will enter our fishbowl will include:

  • How to engage product people (product manager or product owner) in retrospectives?
  • What kind of product data can be utilized in retrospectives?
  • Should we retro about the product itself?
  • What are some tips, tricks, and pitfalls?

High level agenda:
6:00-6:30 pm: Registration & pre-event networking
6:30-8:30 pm: Retrospectives: the product perspective
8:30 - Post-event networking

Light food and soft drinks / wine / beer will be provided

** Note: you must purchase tickets via Eventbrite to attend this event! **
