TRIZ is a powerful methodology and versatile tool for innovation. Although TRIZ’s problem definition and solution methodology come from the engineering industry, the concept can be adapted for the service industries.

Ketan will share how TRIZ can be a support tool for creative thinking when faced with complex project or change issues.

The four principles of TRIZ are:

* There are ‘ideal’ solutions to complex problems; ones that need minimal resources and have maximum benefit
* Opportunities/Issues are created due to some sort of a contradiction
* One path of innovation is to move from a specific problem, to general problem and solution, and back to specific problem
* There are 40 generalised principles we can use

You will have the opportunity to trial the ‘TRIZ for Services’ card game that consists of 40 Innovation Cards and 5 Service Type Cards.

The talk will be given by Ketan Varia. Ketan runs a management consultancy specialising in operational excellence and is developing products for change and innovation to help organisations be more creative.
