Virtual Pub Lunch: Agile Doing Good, Agile Doing Harm

Missing out on round-table discussions due to location? Try out this virtual gathering.

Let's go deep: when we see great successes of humans doing extraordinary things (like extraordinary agile things!)- it’s easy to become a little evangelical. What happens when our zeal overtakes and leads to harm? Where have agile practices gone wrong? How does agile include and how does it exclude? When do we stop thinking and start believing? The agile values and principles have inspired many people to build on it. Part of this is to wrestle with all that agile has come to mean: continued use of Scrum, XP, new frameworks for scaling such as SAFe, LeSS, DAD, GROW, and FAST Agile, delivery processes like DevOps, and efforts expanding beyond software like Modern Agile or BOSSA nova... What are the different 'agile efforts' and where/how do they do relative good and relative harm? Since we are human, we likely fall short of any agile ideal, and could engender not just failure, but hurt. Join us for an honest look at ourselves, not only to celebrate what we do well and why, but to see where we falter so that we can choose more wisely in the future.

You are always welcome to join our community of practice. As we explore and share, we benefit from everyone's insight and perspective. You are in the right place. Bring your questions or stories to learn from and share!
