About the Technical Debt Game

Technical debt is a metaphor to describe how cutting corners in our software development will slow us down. It is a lot like financial debt. If we are not careful we can get over extended so that a large part of development capacity is taken up with paying for this technical debt.

We will dig a little deeper into what technical debt is in more tangible terms and techniques for measuring it.

To ground all this we will then all play the Dice Of Debt Game (https://www.agilealliance.org/dice-of-debt-game/) which provides a hands-one experience with addressing technical debt.

Note that there will be overlap with Declan's Toronto Agile Community Conference 2016 (http://www.torontoagilecommunity.org/display/PUBLIC/Conference+2016) session on the same topic.

About the Speaker: Declan Whelan

Declan wants to make a difference by helping people build environments that are technically healthy. He is an agile coach with Leanintuit, a board member of the Agile Alliance and is a member of the Technical Debt Initiative with the Agile Alliance.
