Ai Kenya (https://kenya.ai/) is a group for all enthusiasts, learners and developers in Machine Learning, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in general. We are a community of AI practitioners & Data Scientists across East Africa that come together to share knowledge & challenges in the field. Our objectives include:

1. Awareness - we strive to bring awareness of this technology (AI & Data Science) to the general public, businesses, institutions and governments. We do so by initiating dialogue on its impact and implementation

4. Growing an innovative ecosystem - Through data science & AI technology, we support startup ventures in this scope with information & resources that help them curate innovative ideas & projects.

5. Building African technology research - We are committed to African technology for Africans. We aim to conduct Research in vital sectors of Africa that will help shape technological solutions in Africa.

Code Maktaba : Data Wrangling in R

African Leadership X (ALX)

Our third Code Maktaba event will be focussed on Data Wrangling in R programming language. This is a continuation of our previous event that focussed on Fundamentals in R. Code Maktaba is a hands on training event series aimed at building and improving technical skills of Ai Kenya community members. Africa R is a consortium of passionate Africa R user groups and users innovating with R every day, and are inspired to share their experience as well as communicate their findings to a global audience. As a community, our mission is to achieve improved representation by encouraging, inspiring, and empowering the African population of all genders who are underrepresented in the global R community. This event will entail data control structures and functional programming. By the end of the session, attendees will be able to: >Learn how to subset different R objects and the different ways this can be achieved. >Understand data control structures and how to implement them in R >Learn how to handle repetitive tasks using loops and the apply family of functions. Who is this training for? : Beginner and Intermediate level programmers in R. Expert programmers are also welcome to help assist in the training. About the trainer. Fridah Wanjala is currently working as a data scientist at M-Kopa Solar where she supports the business by conducting analytics that helps make data-driven decisions. An avid R user, she has heavily been involved in training different organizations and individuals in data analysis tools, data management and analysis. What is needed?
