Show and Tell : Discovering Social Robotics with Furhat

Intelligent systems are radically altering the way information and services are offered to people. How then can we make these systems and technology, in general, to be more human?

Furhat (https://www.furhatrobotics.com/) is the world's most advanced social robot, that communicates with humans as we do with each other - by speaking, listening, showing emotions and maintaining eye contact.

Our 3rd Show and Tell event will feature Preben Wik, who is one of the founders of Furhat Robotics. He holds a PhD in Speech and Language technology from KTH, The Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. His passion for both people and conversational systems has given him the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects on human-robot interaction, as well as human-human interaction and human-dolphin interaction. His current work includes a focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030

Preben is a popular speaker on topics such as Human-Robot Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, and EdTech.He speaks Swedish, Norwegian, English, Spanish, and Chinese, and is now attempting to learn Swahili.

Preben will be introducing and interacting with Furhat on stage, providing insight into the future of AI & Social Robotics and what role Furhat will play in impacting people's lives.
