When: Thursday, April 10, 8:30 PM

Where: (Email for event details)

Meeting Description:

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Aiwass Study Group is hosting a private event April 8th, 9th, and 10th, in celebration of the Thelemic Holy Days.

These three days commemorate of the reception of the central teachings of Thelemic theology -- Liber AL vel Legis sub figura CCXX: The Book of the Law -- by the prophet Aleister Crowley in 1904. While visiting Cairo, Egypt, his wife Rose began to intuit a special message meant for Crowley from some preternatural intelligence associated with the god Egyptian god Horus. A sceptic by nature, Crowley was however able to discern that Rose, without any prior knowledge of Egyptian mythology, pointed out a series of correspondences that convinced him that it was not just her imagination. He was given instructions to be ready each day from Noon until 1pm with pen and paper to receive this important message. Crowley describes a mysterious entity that spoke to him from behind his left shoulder, and never seen. This entity was later determined by Crowley to be his personal Holy Guardian Angel, who he called Aiwass. The results of this channeled work are the three chapters of the Book of the Law. Aleister Crowley spent the remainder of his life studying and unlocking its secrets. But instead of being promulgated as religious dogma, Crowley urged each student to read and interpret its contents for themselves, and to use as inspiration for following their own True Will in life.

For Thelemic practitioners, these days signify initial announcement to humanity of the dawning of the Aeon of Horus, the Crowned and Conquering Child, also known as The Equinox of the Gods. The old formula of the dying god (Osiris) is associated with the previous Aeon (approximately 26,000 years). We are now on the cusp of the Aeon of Horus, and Crowley predicted radical social and spiritual changes to happen for the entire planet. Shortly after this message was received, World War I and II occurred, and with it came dramatic strides in social evolution that the world is still adjusting to. The primary achievement for every individual during the Aeon of Horus is a spiritual alchemical process Crowley referred to as Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel. Defying a simple explanation in plain words, it is the step in which the aspirant comes into *intimate* contact with their true inner spiritual teacher.

Each of the three Holy Days is associated with the chapter that was received, and one of the primary archetypes in the Thelemic cosmology. For April 8th, we commemorate the writing of the first chapter, and the Egyptian sky goddess Nuit. On April 9th, we commemorate the second chapter and the solar disk god, Hadit. The final day and third chapter is associated with Ra Hoor Khuit, one aspect of the warrior godform of Horus.
