Bearacade, an inventors story by Bill Cushwa
Bill Cushwa Founder / CEO / Inventor National School Control Systems, LLC Bill Cushwa is an accomplished leader with more than 20 years experience driving organizational improvement and implementation of best practices, particularly in the area of sales, fundraising and client/customer/donor relations. Unique blend of hands-on corporate expertise and an entrepreneurial mindset. Virginia Tech University became the scene of a gruesome bloodbath. Five years later, the Newtown, Connecticut shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School resulted in mass casualties of administrators, teachers, schoolchildren, and others. Since the Columbine High School shootings, there have been more than 100 attacks on schools in the United States alone. Every week and almost daily, a school, office, or government operation somewhere around the globe comes under attack from a new form of domestic terrorism: the active shooter. The inability to quickly and effectively barricade classrooms and offices in these situations and other active shooter incidents led Bill Cushwa and Dave Soulsby to take action. The friends developed a new door-barricading device, formed National School Control Systems, and patented Bearacade as a way to give our most vulnerable a better chance. NSCS leads with its own unique, patent-pending device, the Bearacade Door Control System, but also provides Emergency Operation Planning way finder sign systems, distributes ballistic-grade glass panels, and works with current and former first responders in developing possible new solutions. For additional information visit www.doorbearacade.com Doors open at 5:30 for networking. Bill Cushwa will start his presentation on Bearacade at 6 pm. Please RSVP.
