The Akron Inventors’ Club is dedicated to providing educational resources to the inventing community, including developing a business, fostering creativity, commercializing products, and increasing inventors’ business skills while promoting awareness of intellectual property tools and encouraging honest and ethical business practices among industry service providers.

James O. Wilson, Assistant Regional Director of the Elijah J. McCoy Midwest Regional Office, United States Patent and Trademark Office will present a program on how intellectual property plays a role in advancing your business through patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. The program will also look at advanced topics in patents including the patent process, international considerations, and micro- and small-entity status for inventors and business. Mr. Wilson has over 25 years experience working for the United States Patent and Trademark Office, working as a patent examiner in several areas, as an instructor in the Office of Patent Training and working with the Office of the Commissioner for Patents.
