What we're about

We are a group here in New Mexico interested in developing software for the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). More specifically the AJUG is interested in supporting the Albuquerque Java community by providing a venue for anyone/everyone to come learn about Java and how it can be applied to solve various problems. Further, there is express interest in hosting anyone with an interest in Java be they beginners or veterans so as to spread around the wondrous word of Java.

This AJUG has a slack.com group setup as virtual meeting area when we're not at events. Each member can get connected, ask technical questions concerning Java, and catch announcements about our group.

Joining the AJUG slack group is super simple and can be done by contacting lead organizer Matthew F. at matthew.ferguson@zoho.com .

Please ensure email requests for AJUG slack access use the following subject line: "AJUG Slack Invite".

Meetup.com will organize our meetings and attract members. If you live outside Albuquerque, but live in New Mexico join the slack group to be connected and maybe we can hold quarterly NMJUG group meetings in southern and northern NM.

Also, we're always looking for sponsors!

Our current sponsor is Rural Sourcing, Inc (Albuquerque) (https://www.ruralsourcing.com/about-rsi/development-centers/new-mexico/) . Rural Sourcing, Inc (Albuquerque) (https://www.ruralsourcing.com/about-rsi/development-centers/new-mexico/) is sponsoring our "On Hands Java SE, EE, WS Coding Lab" with meeting space.

We would like to find sponsors of teleconference services fees, meetup fees, slack fees (if we grow to that many members), etc. Donations are always welcome from both within and outside the AJUG. Help foster the Java Users Group that Albuquerque deserves!
