Tai Chi (Taiji) Practice - A course in the Yang 24-step simplified form

Taiji and Qigong are ancient meditative and movement arts which have been practiced together for hundreds of years. Both promote robust health and well-being, along with focused awareness and relaxation.

The 24-step simplified Yang style form is the most widely practiced and one of the most accessible forms in the world for any level. Trained and endorsed under formally acknowledged Qigong Master, John Alton, with sumplemental training from Master Lu Shaojun, a former national champion and among the top masters in Beijing, Teacher Blake Wheeler has practiced and taught Taiji and Qigong for 25 years. His instruction focuses on delivering the many health and meditative benefits of these arts in the most direct and accessible fashion possible. Experience the profound benefits of Taiji and Qigong for yourself with this iterative 3 month course.

Classes in the course will focus on 2-3 movements from the form for 2 consecutive classes before continuing to the next movements. The entire form will be covered over 3 months and students may join the course at any time. Basic Qigong, concepts from the "10 Essential Principles of Taijiquan", and a warm up routine will be taught. Reference videos will be provided as well. The end of class will put movements in the context of the whole form. Participants will also receive one free private lesson per student, family, or group of friends.

Class will be from 9:30 - 10:30 AM every Saturday at 2402 Mt. Vernon Ave on the 2nd floor. The cost is $75/month over 3 months to complete the course (family and friends discount available, 18+ only, search [masked] to pay with PayPal or Venmo). After completing the first 3 month course, the cost is $65/month and the course can be repeated indefinitely to achieve deeper levels of skill.

Access to intermediate training in other forms is available after familiarizing with the 24-step form.
