What we're about

We seek to create a space that supports and celebrates our voices, our stories. Join us if you want a supportive and safe environment to become a better writer, a space to hone your craft. All genres and levels welcome! Each week we will focus on one of the following areas: self directed writing or reading and group critique.

Critiques; members presubmitted (via email) 5-7 fiction, non-fiction pages or up to 3 poems
Written pieces can be a new work, a work in progress or a revision
Writing; at least 1/2 hour with cameras off and mics muted
Check-out

Beginning 9/1/21 this group will charge members annual dues of $20.00 to cover the cost of maintaining the site.

Let the words flow...

Cameron Cafe

We'll start with housekeeping; checking in with members on their projects, event announcements and workshop planning. We'll move on to reading and critiquing. Authors will have the choice of reading their work aloud to the group or allowing the members to read the pages silently at the table. If you have work you'd like to have critiqued, please provide at least 5-7 double-spaced copies so members can make notes on the page. For: prose fiction/ non fiction- up to 5 pages. Poetry: up to 3 poems. We'll focus on 'time to write' on the back end as time allows. Bring your writing tools: journal, laptop, notebooks, etc.

Cameron Cafe has great coffee, wifi and a friendly atmosphere. The African owned business graciously hosts us every week so we'd like to remind everyone to please support the cafe by making a purchase. We always want to show our appreciation. There's plenty of free parking in the neighborhood.

Keep in mind that we're here to support each other, your writing can be a new piece, a work in progress or a revision. Looking forward to hearing your work and sharing writing space with you!
