What are you hoping to get from this meetup?

Interaction with other writers. Inspiration. Giving inspiration to others. Gaining perspective on my own writing.

Are you willing to critique the work of others and have your work critiqued?

Certainly. I've attended many writing workshops as an undergrad. I understand how to give constructive feedback, and how anxiety provoking it can be to expose ones own writing.

What genre do you write?

I am currently attempting black comedy.

What is your favorite quote?

"You can't cut the throat of every cocksucker whose character it would improve." Al Swearengen, in "Deadwood". Tough to pick one quote as there are so many great ones all around us. However, David Milch, the writer of,"Deadwood" had the remarkable ability to make foul language into poetry.

Who is your favorite author?

David Sedaris, Michael Chabon, Tony Horwitz

Hello, I am a paper pushing wage slave hoping to be a writer. I have a BS in English with a concentration in creative writing from George Mason U. Since graduating I have really missed the camaraderie and stimulation of writing workshops.
