We're thrilled to be hosting this meetup focusing on Inclusion & Diversity in Open Source & Tech - a topic we're extremely supportive of, as is our community.
This evening program will explore the topic with noted thought leaders from some of the most influential companies and organizations in open source and technology from around the world.
Speakers and participants will include Dr. Rochelle Newton (panel moderator), Founder, NASITC Inclusion Consulting Firm & Diversity, Inclusion, Equity Specialist; Demetris Cheatham, Senior Director, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Strategy at GitHub; Stephanie Forbes, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leader in the Americas at commercetools, and more.
*Please note this is an in-person event taking place at The Carolina Theater in downtown Durham, NC. Please enter through the CINEMA entrance, the last set of doors under the Carolina neon sign. There will be a large green/blue CINEMA sign out.
Live programming will begin at 6:30 pm ET sharp with 3-4 10-minute presentations on a variety of topics. We'll then transition to a moderated panel discussion featuring the speakers and other experts and thought leaders. *This segment will engage the audience / attendees as well*
In addition to programming, drinks and snacks will be served (no dinner, sorry) and networking opportunities will abound. A jobs board will also be onsite and available for job postings. We'll also spotlight local underrepresented organizations in attendance to make you aware of who you can support and possibly get involved with.
Finally, there will be LOTS of free swag available at this event! We want EVERYONE to leave with a t-shirt or hat, or perhaps one of the many other items that will be available (stickers, socks, etc.).
*Doors open between 5:30 and 6:00 pm for networking. We'll make every effort to wrap up by 8:00. Please enter through the CINEMA entrance, the last set of doors under the Carolina neon sign. There will be a large green/blue CINEMA sign out.

Note about COVID:
We do not have a masking mandate in place for this event - but masks are encouraged. Please bring a mask with you if needed. Also, the venue is large, so there is plenty of room to distance as you wish. Seating is plentiful and there is a lot of it. If anything changes with the COVID situation we will adjust quickly and accordingly.
