Xamarin presents exciting opportunities to any developer and especially to the huge .net community out there. With Xamarin, any .net developer can leave platform-specific languages behind and become an Android, iOS or Windows developer with ease, while sharing a single front-end and back-end codebase, within Visual Studio (https://www.visualstudio.com/) or Xamarin Studio (https://www.xamarin.com/studio).

Xamarin allows a move to mobile development on all platforms into a common language that can leverage existing skillsets. With a common framework or core API surface it is possible to leverage the libraries that others have built. Having a single powerful and extensible toolset means we can leverage its capabilities to develop for all platforms. It is also necessary when these APIs are used, to possess native platform performance.
