ATMegaZero Workshop with ishotjr

Details

What do you get when you cross an Arduino with a Raspberry Pi Zero? Short answer: the ATMegaZero! (see also https://www.hackster.io/news/atmega32u4-raspberry-pi-zero-form-factor-atmegazero-3baa0edc65ef for the long answer and https://www.hackster.io/news/hands-on-with-the-new-atmegazero-b937bd765f50 for a hands-on!)

In this workshop, participants will learn how to get started with the ATMegaZero, an Arduino-like board that just happens to look like a Raspberry Pi Zero! A limited number of boards will be available FREE for All Hands Active! members to pick up at the space!! (details to be announced soon via Meetup, so be sure to register!) Non-members and dawdlers should pick up a board from the ATMZ shop in order to participate:

Anyone, anywhere in the world is welcome to join - you don't have to be an All Hands Active! member. We do, however, appreciate donations in order to keep our little makerspace going:

Just a quick reminder that if you would like to code along during the workshop, you will need an ATMegaZero board (currently 25% off!) and Learning Shield:

https://shop.atmegazero.com/products/atmegazero-learning-shield?variant=37007019311258

These are available pre-soldered (as linked to above) or with loose headers if you prefer (please solder before the workshop and ensure you select a male ATMZ and female shield or vice-versa). If you are a paid All Hands Active! member in good standing, a limited supply of pre-soldered boards are awaiting you at the space for pickup at your convenience. Grab one from the main table by the door (be sure to grab both the main ATMZ and Learning Shield!) before the event on Thursday the 8th! If you are unable to access the space, please contact me and I will do my best to make other arrangements, but cannot promise that I will be able to accommodate your needs.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday! Thanks again to Eddie from ATMegaZero for providing the hardware for this event!!! :)

Thanks for signing up for our ATMegaZero Workshop! In order to make the best use of our available time, please download and install the Arduino IDE (version 1.8.13) ahead of time:
https://www.arduino.cc/en/software

If you already have a 1.8.x version installed, you're all set. We won't be supporting the 2.0 beta for this workshop, so please ensure you have access to a 1.8.x installation if you'd like to follow along. Thanks! :)
