Sonora Pass - Picnic

Details
This will be a fun summer ride to Sonora Pass (Hwy 108). Bring your brown-bag lunch with you, or pick one up from Mel & Feye's in Jackson or Alicia's Sugar Shack in Sugarpine.
Due to the closure of Hwys 88, 89, and 4, this will be an up and back trip on Hwy 108 -- however, as one of my long-time riding buddies often says, riding a road in the opposite direction is a completely different route. On the way we'll stop for a lunch break at the Columns of the Giants trailhead for a picnic lunch. For those who would like to stretch their legs during this break, there is a nice 1/4 mi. trail to a pretty amazing geologic formation.

Plenty of fun roads on this ride. (There might even be a goat trail or two...) Summer days warm quickly. Let's get a jump on the day and start at 8 in Jackson -- hopefully getting into the mountains before it gets too hot. Stop by Mel & Faye's around 7 if you would like to grab coffee, breakfast, or conversation before the ride.
~270 miles RT
