The Arnold Rim Trail - - Sierra Nevada Logging Museum to Manuel Peak Hike

The Arnold Rim Trail - - Sierra Nevada Logging Museum to Manuel Peak Hike

Details

•WHAT WE'LL DO:

Let's begin our hike at the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum enjoying the old growth forest with sounds of the creek below. Enroute to Manuel Peak at mile 3.9 let's take the spur trail out to the San Antonio Creek Overlook with spectacular views. From there we will return back to the trail juncture and continue on, UP to Manuel Ridge. This segment is "quasi-challenging" with switchbacks that assist us with the ascent . Continuing on along the ridge we make a slight detour at approximately the 5 mile marker on the main trail to access Manuel Peak with truly spectacular views to the west.

On the return we will utilize the available logging roads dropping down a beautiful drainage area returning us to the main trail. Three miles up and down through the forest will bring us back to the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum.

The hike is approximately 10.5 miles in distance with 1540 +/- feet of climbing.

Hopefully, the dogwoods and wildflowers will be in bloom for our enjoyment!
