****** Please RSVP if you are planning to join us ******** We are a social riding group. Saturday rides are suitable for beginner-level riders with mountain bikes and suitable off road tyres. You will need to ensure you have the right equipment for the ride, A SPARE TUBE, a first aid kit, water and basic tools, if you have any questions or concerns please text me in advance of the ride. Dear Social Bikers Are you ready for some fresh air, awesome views and some good social exercise. This Saturday we are going on a long ride (20KM return) up the old rail line in the Rimutaka’s. We meet at the car park for a 9.30 am start so get your timing right as it is 40 mins from Wellington. See you there. Saturday Ride Details This Saturday we ride the Rimutaka Rail Trail. This is the easiest beginner ride we do, it is virtually flat, smooth and wide so we can ride side by side and chat whilst enjoying the amazing scenery. Meet at the Rail Trail car park at the usual time of 9.30 am. The car park is signposted from SH2 just before the Rimutakas. Follow SH2 from Wellington through Upper Hutt and on until you pass the reservoirs (Twin Lakes) and then SH2 widens out and goes uphill. When you start to descend you will see a large brown sign for the Rail Trail. Turn RIGHT off SH2 and then an immediate LEFT and follow this road to the car park at the end. Leave enough time to get there for a 9.30 start. It is probably 40 mins from Wellington. Text or call me if you get lost[masked] Please feel free to pass on this meetup to anyone else that might be interested in social riding for beginner level MTB. Afterwards we may enjoy a scone and a hot drink in Te Marua, so come out and be social! See you Remember to RSVP to me so I know numbers on the day and please let me know if you are not coming so we do not wait for you. Kind regards Amanda

What we're about

Amanda has been running Beginner Social MTB rides for 7+ years around the Wellington Region. She aims to help people who are not always confident, not necessarily fit - enjoy riding with social, fun adults of all ages and interests. We ride every Saturday morning at an amazing arrange of locations, always meeting at 9.30 am. We ride in all weathers and all year and most of the rides at 2-2.5 hours duration. Duration is dependant on the fitness of the group at the time as no-one is ever left behind! We ride together, stop and laugh often. To see pictures and learn more about our rides see all of our past rides here.
