2022 re:Group. HW Device Library & AWS Networking recap (online)

Details

Hi All,

The fun keeps coming :) We hope your start to 2022 is going as well as it can!

We're running the January event online (link under location) and will evaluate returning in-person month-by-month. BYOB - Bring Your Own Beverage.

A few experiments this month. Note the early start time of 4.30pm as we'll be online and look to run within an hour. Keen to keep the community going strong after such an awesome 2021. Feedback gratefully received as ever.

Another experiment is investigating a hardware device library - a range of HW you can borrow to experiment with. We'll trial this with a Senquip ORB - a ruggedised device (IP67) with onboard GPS, GSM/WiFi connectivity and RS485 and CANBUS communication to talk to most engine controllers as well as pretty much any sensor you can think of! We'll discuss further on the night but reach out in advance if you have a use case in mind and would like to borrow it. More details here - https://www.senquip.com/

We can look to source other HW based on group interest, e.g:
Media - https://aws.amazon.com/medialive/features/link/
AI/CV - https://aws.amazon.com/panorama/
AOTTs - https://devices.amazonaws.com/ (AWS Partner Device HW)

If any AWS enabled hardware vendors want to donate toys to the library let us know!

Andy Pettica (AWS Solutions Architect) will also do a recap of the latest Networking releases from re:Invent in December.

Agenda:
1630 Welcome, open floor discussion
1640 HW Device Library
1650 AWS Networking Update
1715 Open floor discussion
1730 Close
