Details

Welcome to Meetup #14 !

The Wellington AWS User Group is a great opportunity for developers, architects, start-ups, and anyone who is interested in the latest cloud technologies to come together and learn from others' experiences, ask questions, and share ideas.

At the next event we welcome Steven Ensslen, local BI expert, to talk to us about cloud data.

Rolling your own data lake takes an awesome amount of effort and expense. But if you let AWS do the undifferentiated heavy lifting, you may wonder what the fuss is about. We’ll start with a demonstration of configuring and using Quicksight, Athena, and S3 as an easy-to-configure Data Lake. Next, we’ll show you performance benchmarks and a cost/benefit analysis of competing options. Finally, we’ll look at some architecture patterns for fitting Quicksight and Athena into a broader analytics platform.

The venue is the new exhibition space in the Wellington Museum called Flux. Just walk on in and you will be directed where to go!
