Open Source, Inner Source

Details
*** Hosting Reversim Lecture ***
Inner source has huge benefits for companies, especially large ones – from cost reduction, through shorter time to market and greater innovation, to faster growth.
So what is inner source? Yes, we know… use of the best practices in open source software development and the establishment of an open source-like culture within the organization. We all know how to Google and check Wikipedia.
But how do we take open source best practices and put them to use in a large, monolithic enterprise? How can we sail through to the benefits without crashing on the rocks?
Arthur Berezin, a Reversim Lecturer, will talk about Open Source culture
Ori Orenbach and Esty Liani will share experiences from their journeys in building inner source communities in Amdocs, including:
• What is the inner source culture?
• Why did we choose to adopt inner source?
• How does it interact with the DevOps culture?
• How can you start an inner source program?
• What are the challenges to adopting inner source?
• How have our groups evolved until now, and what benefits did we gain?
Arthur Berezin
Esty Liani and Ori Orenbach are software engineering managers in two top-notch R&D groups in Amdocs. Both are practicing the magic of implementing inner source practices within their groups, leading the new paradigm, and constantly innovating.
