According to a famous quote of fashion designer Coco Chanel [masked]), fashion is all around us. Chanel once said that: “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

In line with this quote, the ultimate challenge for designers is to make sustainable fashion ‘a way of living’, by means of creating ‘Life Cycle Clothing’, which enhances the self-empowerment of the designer, the maker, and the wearer. More importantly, the transition to a circular economy is an international challenge.

The role of designers and other stakeholders in the fashion industry is essential as they decide how and which products enter the market and via which channels they are manufactured and sold and how they are used and end their life.
