Blockchain tech: what can it do for me ?
Henk will give his insights on how the blockchain works and what it can do for you. He will examine and explain the Java based blockchain systems that dominate much of the crossover space from crypto-currency to blockchain technology.
He will also show how to judge what is true and false in the increasingly hyped news and opinions about the benefits of blockchain.
In addition, Van Cann will give examples of how this technology is going to change your work and life. It is an interactive session.
Van Cann will share his experiences from the Consensys 2016 conference, held on May 2-4 in New York, possibly the biggest gathering of specialists in the blockchain technology field.
In recent years Henk van Cann (@henkvancann) has been gathering knowledge and contacts within the blockchain technology field, focussing on applications for e-identity issues (your digital ‘me’).
An introduction to NXT: from crypto-currency to blockchain
Dave Pearce from the NXT foundation (https://news.bitcoin.com/interview-nxt-foundatio...) will give an introduction to the leading Java-based public blockchain system : Nxt.
He will cover the history of Nxt and crypto-currency, with an emphasis on the way that crypto-currencies, such as Bitcoin or Nxt, have evolved into blockchain technologies, providing benefits that go far beyond the purely financial.
The presentation will be interactive, and will allow Java developers to get an idea of how they can apply Nxt blockchain technology to their own projects.
