Join us as we partner with Learn Machine Learning London for a talk on Natural Language Processing followed by the chance to put your data science skills to the test with a hands-on introduction to machine learning!
In the hands-on session, you will learn what a machine learning model is and we will walk you through how to build your own all with the help of certified data scientists.
So, what's this session all about?
- Talk: Natural Langauge Processing by Jaymin Mistry, Data Scientist at PA Consulting
This talk will cover the basics of Natural Language processing: why and how you might use it to solve problems as a data scientist. It will then cover the key features of the spaCy package and why you might (like to) use it.
- Hands-On Machine Learning Session by Noha Badawy, Data Scientist at Dataiku
The session will give you the opportunity to build a machine learning project and by using a real-life use case and Dataiku's visual interface, participants will learn how to:
- Access different data sources
- Initial analysis of data to understand what we are working with
- Clean and prepare data before modelling
- Train a few machine learning models to select the best one for the problem at hand
- Score the model

Who is this meetup for?
This meetup is ideal for those with a background in software engineering, science or mathematics. Or those already working in analytics / BI using Excel, SQL or traditional modelling techniques.
What is the aim of this meet-up?
The aim of these meetups is to provide an environment for you to teach yourself machine learning
Any ability is welcome. While we will have data scientists on hand to help, this is a self-led learning course and is based on everyone helping each other.
Do I need coding skills?
No coding is required for this workshop, all you need to bring is a laptop with the latest Chrome or Firefox browser installed.
