Physics for Rock Stars: Maxwell’s Demon: heat, loss & chaos

Details

Christine will explain the simple beauty of the laws of thermodynamics: Energy can't be created or destroyed. Everything we do creates more chaos. Even for the unscientific, these are powerful guiding principles. Christine will also explain what "hot" and "cold" mean on a molecular level, why Scottish physicist James Maxwell created an imaginary demon, and what that little demon means to us today.
