What we’re about
Anchorage Dads Group is a diverse community of fathers who take an active role in our children’s lives. We host meet-ups several times per month, with our kids at parks, playgrounds, museums, sporting events, parent-and-me classes, and anywhere else we feel compelled within the Anchorage, Alaska metro area. We also host Dads Nights Out to give our members an opportunity to socialize, have fun, learn, and support each other as we navigate parenthood.
We are dads of all stripes: married dads, single dads, dads who share custody, adoptive dads, step-dads, stay at home dads, full time working dads, work from home dads, freelance dads, etc. Our meet-ups occur both during the week and on weekends to accommodate both stay at home dads and working dads. We welcome all involved fathers in and around the Anchorage area who want to socialize and interact with other guys who enjoy spending quality time with their children. The only requirement to joining us is to be a dad. There are no group dues and no attendance expectations. We have some dads who come consistently to most of what we do, and we have some dads who might only come out once or twice per year. We’re here for all dads whenever they are ready to participate.
Anchorage Dads Group is part of the City Dads Group, a dynamic and diverse community of fathers dedicated to being active in their children’s lives and, by example, redefining what it means to be a dad in the 21st century. City Dads Group has active groups in many major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. Find them all here at http://citydadsgroup.com/
Engage and connect with us on social media:
** Please note this group is strictly for Dads, we understand sometimes wives and partners will try join for their significant others but we encourage them to join on their own accord. We want this group to be a comfortable place for Dads to learn and talk about anything dad related.

- Dads Coffee ClubBlack Cup Coffee, Anchorage, AK
Winter conditions are here, and I would like to invite all members who are interested to join us in rebooting Dads Coffee Break, winter style.
We’ll meet at 9:30 am this Saturday at Black Cup Coffee at 341 East Benson Blvd. Come alone, with a friend, or bring your kids(s).
In other news--snow is here to stay and its time to "re-boot and re-ski" growing children. For those new to waxing skis (or who prefer to do it as a social activity), please get in touch. I have some waxing gear and can help with the basics.
If you missed this years ski swap via NSAA, mark your calendar for next year. https://anchoragenordicski.com/events/ski-swap/
Pro tip: unsold or abandoned ski swap items can sometimes be found at the local goodwill shortly after the swap has closed up shop for the year. So keep your eyes open in late October/early November for markdowns on the markdowns.
- Brainstorming Sessions/Dad research (Ongoing Community Project)Black Cup Coffee, Anchorage, AK
This meetup is virtual and is not actually taking place at 11:59 pm, December 31 (unless you want it to--in which case, PM me!).
Our City Dads, Anchorage Edition, Dad Brain Trust is putting together a spreadsheet of resources for dads in the Anchorage Area. THERE ARE SO MANY RESOURCES AND THEY ARE RIGHT AT OUR FINGERTIPS. But we need real dads, with their real brains, right here in our community, to contribute to this project made by and for Anchorage City Dads.
Please join us at our coffee meetups, to discuss any caffeine addled ideas you might want to offer or accept.
If you can't make a meetup, but would like to get a peek at our work product and contribute suggestions, please message me.
That said, although fatherhood and a father's love for his offspring has been around since the very beginning, here are some additional resources to get your daddy gears turning, and to help focus and enlarge the innate daddy instinct (list courtesy of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management):
