We have an exciting event planned for Wed 1/11!

Augury - Angular Debugging Extension

Speaker: Steven Kampen

Augury was built from the ground up to make building Angular applications easier. Augury is a Chrome extension that plugs into your dev tools, and allows you to view the components, routes, and state within your application. Augury also allows you to make real time changes to the state of your application to assist with development and debugging.

Steven will be giving overview of Augury’s basic function and architecture, followed by practical demonstrations of the individual features.

Steven Kampen is a Javascript Developer at Rangle.io. He has been building Angular applications since 2013, and one of the core developers of Augury.

Open Source Mission Control with AngularJS

Speaker: Andrew Henry

Open MCT is a new web based and open source mission control framework being developed at NASA's Ames Research Center in collaboration with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This talk will give a brief introduction to the problem domain of spacecraft operations, and a demonstration of the Open MCT software. Some details and examples will be given of how Open MCT's plugin architecture works, and how Angular fits into it. Finally some "lessons learned" will be presented based on our experience of building an open source and modular framework in AngularJS.

Andrew is a software engineer with a background in enterprise software development, with experience in a number of different industries from telecommunications to music publishing. As a member of the Intelligent Systems Division at NASA's Ames Research Center, Andrew is exploring his passion for space and science.

Guest Badging System

We recommended pre-printed badges. To get a pre-printed badge, you must have a Yes RSVP (with a full first and last name listed) by 12p on Mon 1/9. Please note that badges cannot be created with incomplete name information.

If a pre-printed badge is not available for you when you arrive, you may create one on-demand, but due to the logistics of this process, please note there may be a long wait and this option will only be available until 7pm.

Getting to the meetup by public transit (MVgo West Bayshore Shuttle (http://mvgo.org/west-bayshore-route.html) from Caltrain)

FROM THE MOUNTAIN VIEW CALTRAIN STATION

Look for the MVgo (http://mvgo.org/index.html) Shuttle stop (2nd bus shelter in outer circle, near entrance (http://goo.gl/maps/uQv61) <--use "Satellite" view to see best). Take the shuttle to stop #3 (Charleston Rd @ Huff Ave NE) and then walk to Building 46 (approx a 1 minute walk).

Please note, the Caltrain area can be confusing due to all the different shuttles doing dropoff/pickups. Couple tips:

• Please look for a white shuttle van with an MVGo (http://mvgo.org/) logo like this (https://docs.google.com/a/google.com/drawings/d/1X8e_s76pMjk1qO2hNhjFC_V0hDtP0k4RuOiXjgp7YW4/pub?w=960&h=720).

• Shuttle will have signage that reads, "West Bayshore".

The relevant stop times are below. Note that due to traffic, the buses do not always run according to this schedule. If a bus arrives early, it will wait until the shuttle time to depart, but if it is running late, it will only make a quick stop, so please keep an eye out.

Leaving MTV Caltrain (note, pickup times are approximate)

5:52pm
6:21pm
6:40pm

GETTING BACK TO THE MOUNTAIN VIEW CALTRAIN STATION

• (~8:13pm): MVgo (http://mvgo.org/index.html)'s last West Bayshore shuttle (http://mvgo.org/west-bayshore-route.html) stops at stop #11 (Charleston Rd @ Huff Ave SW) at approx 8:13pm and arrives at Caltrain at approx 8:35pm, in time for the 8:49pm Northbound train.
