What we're about

~ Animals have their own voices, but few listen.
Those of us who hear them, must help them to be heard. ~

This group organizes and promotes peaceful direct ACTion demonstrations. We also network with and offer support for other organizations and activists, in a effort to be as effective for the animals as possible.

Why peaceful direct ACTion? Because animals are suffering NOW! If you want to be a voice for the animals and our earth, and get ACTive through peaceful, public, grassroots action, this is the group for you. This is an action based group, beyond letter writing and making phone calls (though those actions are also good things to do, they will not be our main focus).

How we use and treat animals, from factory farms to wildlife, has an impact on us and our environment, besides the suffering caused to the most innocent among us who are entirely at our mercy.

Our activities are a great way to speak up for animals and our earth, and meet other nice folks. We are not a rescue group, but we will have contacts with rescue groups and will help as much as we can. Our signs and leaflets are READY! SET! Let's GO!

PEACE. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still BE CALM IN YOUR HEART.

This group is sponsored and supported by Animal Action Network (AAN) (http://AnimalActionNetwork.org), a small local nonprofit, educational organization.

AAN also supports VegFest Colorado (http://VegFestColorado.org), Vegan Life Colorado (http://VeganLifeColorado.org), the related community group Vegan Life Colorado (http://www.meetup.com/VeganLifeColorado) meetup, as well as Boulder Vegans & Friends (http://meetup.com/BoulderVegans) meetup, Colorado Springs Animal Action Network (CS AAN) (http://www.meetup.com/CSAnimalActionNetwork) meetup, and Veg Grand Junction (http://meetup.com/VegGrandJunction) meetup.

"Deep down, we all just want to yell, especially when confronted with the enormity of the problem, but ultimately that just makes people turn away and close their ears. People listen to the substance of the message if they're able to get past the tone of the message. If the tone of the message is too strident or too didactic or too loud, people won't pay attention to the substance of it." ~ Moby

Colorado Citizens For Canine Welfare Pet Store Rally

Puppies N Stuff

Hello Volunteers, We will be doing peaceful rallies at a pet store that we had been rallying at for the last 6 years, Puppies N Stuff (PNS). Puppies N Stuff sells puppy mill puppies. Buying a puppy from a pet store supports puppy mills. The owner of PNS decided that after she was exposed on October 14, 2018 on channel 4 news about selling sick puppies that she was ready to flip to a more humane model and sell only puppies from shelters and rescues. We have been monitoring this transition, working with the HSUS puppy mill campaign manager and a local rescue to keep the store supplied with rescues. At the end of July 2018, a video of inside PNS surfaced on FB and showed puppies in the store. Per HSUS manager, "based on the video, it looks like all the store is doing is selling puppies. There doesn't seem to be much enrichment for the animals and I know the owner is not interested in selling kittens/cats for adoption.' In addition, the 2 shelters that HSUS recommended for transporting rescues to PNS are not pleased with the store's current setup of diversity. They only seem to be concentrating on the sale of puppies and not much else. In order to have a good customer base, it would be helpful to provide supplies that puppies would need going forward. We will be rallying 2 times a month and usually more the month of December when it's high volume buying time for Christmas. Dress warm, wear layers, something to drink, hand/toe warmers, hats, gloves, and comfortable shoes too. In the summer there is minimal shade so wear lots of sunscreen, hats, shades and bring lots of water. We have signs! We just need your smile and commitment to be the animal's voices! If you have any questions, feel free to call or text me at[masked] or email me at [masked]

World Love for Dolphin Day/End the Captivity- HOSTED by Sea Shepherd Denver

Message from Sea Shepherd Denver: World Love for Dolphin Day is recognized around the world on 2/14. Several countries are still hunting dolphins and forcing them into a life of captivity. For every dolphin stolen for human entertainment, many, many, more are killed. Though we do not have dolphins in captivity in Colorado we want to show our support for them and also for the animals that are currently being held captive at SeaQuest in Denver. We will show our support on Sat 2/16. Please come out and join us! We need to end captivity for all animals!!
