ASA Workshop: Beginning R Class (Room 335 West Hall, University of Michigan)
Hello, If you've wanted to get a start on learning the open source statistical language R, you're in luck! This class is intended for people who don't know any R (or who tried to learn, and crashed and burned). We will cover: Getting and installing R and RStudio, installing and loading required packages. How the user interface works. How R looks at data. How to import data, and examine a dataset. How to make graphs. How to run a statistical model, and save/manipulate the results. ***************Special instructions******************* Because this is a short class, please download the materials first, from: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1yRpCZdG1ocpF1I2dM_fRlwrmjVWim-h2 Unzip the folder. There is a Word document in the 'Materials Folder'. Please follow the initial instructions on how to get R and RStudio, and download the files to your computer. If you want to go ahead and try to install, please do so (R first, then RStudio). If it doesn't work, don't worry, we will help you in class. See you there!

    What we're about

Hello, We're the Ann Arbor Chapter of the American Statistical Association. We have regular meetings open to anybody interested in statistics, data and analysis.

The ideal member would be anybody interested in data analysis, statistics, and using data to understand our world better.

We intend to learn, share information, and have fun with data (believe it or not!).

We're still figuring out our activities, but we expect to have some 'how to' talks about statistics and statistical software.
