Docker with Rails: from Dev to Prod

Getting your app running locally is easy. Getting it running on your CI/CD and production environment is hard. Let’s explore what Docker containers are, how they work and how we can use them to help us build better software that ships faster.

In this session you will learn how to leverage the power of Docker across your entire development, test and production lifecycle. We will start with a high level overview of what Docker is and then go through a few mini-deep dives of its various components. We will work through a live demonstration of containerizing a Rails application and show how we can easily drop and execute any container in a Jenkins environment.

Imran Raja is a full-stack cloud engineer with 7 years of experience building scalable applications. He loves hacking with Ruby, Go and Javascript and is the winner of many global and regional hackathons. He currently works out of the GE Digital Thread in Detroit, Michigan.
