How long have you enjoyed photography? What got you into it?

I think I have always had an interest in photography. I may have absorbed myself into a lot earlier with my 35 mm when I was younger, but it was expensive. I took a couple of photography classes before having kids, and after having kids, but honing my craft has often been put to the side in normal day to day life. I want the shots I take to matter and to highlight my families life.

What kind of camera do you use, and what is your favorite lens?

I have a Nikon D60. I have 2 basic Nikkor lenses, the 18-55mm and[masked]mm. I use them both equally.

What type of photography do you most enjoy (e.g. portraiture, landscape, macro, street photography, nature, candid, etc.)?

Mostly I enjoy taking shots of my children in their activities. I want to learn better how to get the action shot. My daughter is in dance and the lighting is tricky and the movement is fast. I am slowly learning to use manual for this type of event. I also love day outings with friends. Photographing different areas together is very rewarding. I enjoy getting shots of new places that we have explored as well as comparing them to my friends and seeing what has caught their eye.

How would you like to improve your photography? What are your goals?

I would like to learn how to use my camera in multiple venues, to know what settings would be appropriate. I would also like to get more comfortable just pulling out the camera.

How did you hear about our group?

From a friend

I am an amateur photographer and interested in learning new things things about photography as well as getting involved in my community. I love to take shots of my kids, but am also interested in more artistic shots of my surroundings.
