This meetup group is for women in their 40s and 50s who want to develop friendships with other women, while enjoying activities in the Ann Arbor area and beyond.
This women’s group creates community by embracing diversity in our backgrounds, life experiences, life circumstances, and goals.
This group’s meetups will focus on a wide range of activities including, but not limited to: meals, coffee/tea, brunch, dinner, outdoor and indoor physical activities, and local events. New meetup suggestions and ideas are encouraged by the group.
Meetups will be scheduled on average three-four times per month.
Meetups will be kept small to allow group members opportunities to get to know most, if not all, of the group members that participate in each experience. There are a few basic, open-ended questions to join the group. A face profile photo is required so that group members can find each other at meet ups and learn names.
Membership fees are $5 per year, which helps to offset the cost of hosting the group. Please keep your RSVPs up to date, canceling no less than 24 hours in advance of a meetup.
A first name and a face photo (of just yourself) is required to join.
“Women understand. We may share experiences, make jokes, paint pictures, and describe humiliations that mean nothing to men, but women understand. The odd thing about these deep and personal connections of women is that they often ignore barriers of age, economics, worldly experience, race, culture — all the barriers that, in male or mixed society, had seemed so difficult to cross.” Gloria Steinem
