About us
Annapolis Jaycees is a group of young professionals (ages 21-40) focused on the Annapolis, MD and Anne Arundel community providing unique volunteer opportunities throughout the year with social events in-between.
A few signature volunteer events include Maryland Special Olympics, Jam-Pack-A-Backpack (setting kids up for success with school supplies for the year), Hanging of the Greens (decorating downtown Annapolis storefronts for the holidays), and GreenScape Annapolis (gardening and mulching areas around town in the spring).
This organization is also known as the Annapolis Junior Chamber of Commerce (http://www.annapolisjaycees.com), and is a member of the Maryland Jaycees, the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, and Junior Chamber International.
We are an inclusive group and welcome you to join us to get to know your community & meet new people while having fun!
We have a networking monthly meeting every third Tuesday, with a free round of drinks and appetizers. Feel free to drop by and meet others and see if this group is the right fit for you!

Let's Play Indoor Pickleball! (Intro & Beginner-Friendly Fun)
The PutAway - Indoor Pickleball Courts & Leagues, 254 Najoles Rd Suite A-K, Millersville, MD, USPlease read all available info in the description!
Throw off the hat, coat, and gloves, and let's play Indoor Pickleball at The Putaway! This will be a very beginner-friendly event and we fully expect (and hope) to have attendees that have never played before. It's the perfect time to learn before Spring finally comes, and you can impress your friends with the skills you've already acquired!
- We have 2 courts reserved for 2 hours, which should give us plenty of time to learn or re-learn some basics and then play some real games with real scoring!
- After our court time is up, the plan is to continue the vibes and head over to Libations just around the corner, for some food and drink before heading home (and before they close at 7 😂) [*Note: participants are responsible for paying their own way at Libations following the Pickleball event]
- A few important housekeeping items:
- Please ensure that you RSVP here on meetup, as we have a limit of 14 guests (excluding myself and another seasoned player/coach). - If we fill up, you are always welcome to join us after at Libations. Just send me a direct message if you're planning on meeting us there. Depending on the count, I may need to provide a heads up to the tavern.
- After RSVP'ing here, please download the free CourtReserve App, set up a free account, and then add The Putaway as an organization. Register as a guest member with The Putaway and sign their club's waiver form through the app. This will ensure that we don't inundate the front desk with paper forms the day of the event and it saves more time for Pickleball! [Don't hesitate to contact me or the club if you are having any issues with these steps]
- If you have your own paddle please bring it, though I believe strongly that we will have enough between the club, myself, and others to handle at least 8 players on the courts at a time. [I personally own 6]
- This is a conditioned indoor club, and I wear moisture wicking t-shirts and shorts when I play. If you get cold easily, I recommend you wear layers that you can remove as you start to warm up. I also just recommend you come in layers that you can put back on as we head out after the event. Tennis or Pickleball shoes should be worn on the courts. There are spacious bathrooms and changing rooms at this club.
- If you aren't already familiar with the game of Pickleball, watching this awesome video will help prepare you to move into gameplay much faster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rD1O3R9B0Sw
