What we're about

The Annapolis Jaycees is a group of young professionals ages 21-40. Join us to have fun and gain the leadership skills necessary to succeed in the business world today; this includes both volunteer opportunities and plenty of bar-hopping weekends! We volunteer throughout the year in events such as the Seafood Festival, Special Olympics, Hanging of the Greens, and many more. As young professionals, we are always in search of ways to make ourselves better: this is why we offer workshops on buying a house, public speaking, and personal management. This organization is also known as the Annapolis Junior Chamber of Commerce ( http://www.annapolisjaycees.com ), and is a member of the Maryland Jaycees, the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, and Junior Chamber International. We welcome you to join us and start having fun! We have a networking event every third Tuesday each month, with free appetizers for members!

Jaycees Monthly Meeting

Rams Head Tavern

Join us in person to learn more about the Annapolis Jaycees, hear about our upcoming events, and network with other young professionals in your community!

Hike and WINERY!

1871 Hawkins Rd

This is the event you've all been waiting for! Over the past year the Annapolis Jaycees have held numerous Hike and Brews (and one Clean and Brew), but we're finally bringing you a Hike and Wine!

We'll be hiking the Box Turtle and Red Toad Trail Loop, which is a 7 mile long trail just outside of Annapolis. Per alltrails.com, this trail is good for all hiking skill levels. However, 7 miles is still a long hike (would take about 3 hours), but there is an option to skip the second half of the trail and start heading back at an earlier point on the trail, which would make it a 3 mile hike (1.5-2 hours). Please comment or message me if you have a preference.

After the hike we'll go to Great Frogs Winery! This winery is only open on Saturdays from 1-5pm, so the plan is to finish our hike and head straight over to be there when they open.

Box Turtle and Red Toad Trail Loop - 1871 Hawkins Rd Annapolis, Maryland
Great Frogs Winery - 3218 Harness Creek Rd, Annapolis, MD 21403

If you want more info on the hike, here is the alltrails link: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/maryland/box-turtle-and-red-toad-trail-loop

If you're not interested in the hike and just want to drink wine, you're welcome to meet us at Great Frogs Winery at 1pm.

What to bring:
Hiking shoes
Long pants, long sleeves, and a hat (for warmth and protection from ticks!)

Chair or blanket to sit on at the winery (seating can be sparse)
Food. In terms of food, the winery only serves cheese, charcuterie, and crackers, but you're allowed to bring your own food as long as it is consumed outside.

Hanging of the Greens

Market House

Join us as we decorate downtown Annapolis for the Holiday season! It is an annual tradition for the Jaycees of Annapolis to decorate storefronts of local downtown businesses with lighted garland and wreaths. We separate into teams and work together to hang greens that will light up Annapolis at night.

Currently, our plan is to use Market House (25 Market Place, Annapolis MD) as the meeting location.

The Calvert Street Garage is free on weekends, but is about a 10min walk from the downtown area. The Noah Hillman Parking Garage is located right downtown, but does charge for parking.

Make sure to dress warmly, bring/wear gloves because you will be handling fresh greenery and nails/wires. Don't forget hats and other warm clothing, as well as any beverages of your choice to keep you warm throughout the day.

We will also have pizzas provided downtown mid-day!

Thanks so much for volunteering, and bring your friends to help make our town beautiful. We look forward to having a great turn out for this year's Hanging of the Greens!

There will be an awesome after-party on the evening of that Saturday, December 4th for those who participate. Details TBA.

• What to bring
Gloves, a warm smile, and your Christmas hat
