AnythingDATA is proud to host this informative session to educate everyone from entrepreneurs to established businesses on what is intellectual property and why does it matter? In a 60-minute presentation, we will work together to discuss the different types of intellectual property and methods to protect that property. We will allow plenty of time for questions during and after the program. Our guest speakers and experts in all areas of patents, copyrights, trademarks, IP and much more, will be Richard Holzer and Judith Keene from Holzer Patel Drennan. Rick Holzer BACKGROUND: Rick brings a significant professional background in electrical and software engineering in combination with a distinguished legal career to assist clients in the development of their intellectual property (IP) portfolios and the advancement of their technologies, branding, and creativity. Rick’s practice emphasizes IP portfolio management (patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets), patent preparation and prosecution, patent analysis (noninfringement/infringement, invalidity/validity, clearance, patentability), and intellectual property due diligence. Rick’s technical areas include software, electronics, data storage systems and devices, telecommunications, nuclear engineering, mechanical systems, propulsion systems, and materials. He is a past President of the Colorado IP American Inn of Court, and he is a council member to the International Business Law Consortium (IBLC). Rick teaches as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. EDUCATION: J.D. – University of Michigan Law School M.S. Electrical Engineering – Purdue University B.S. They are yours and yours alone, and like business owners the world over, you want to keep them that way. BACKGROUND: Ms. Keene has over 30 years of experience practicing law in Colorado. Areas of interest and experience include U.S. trademark and copyright protection, publicity and privacy issues, Internet law, corporate and business issues, contracts and licensing, government contracts, real estate law, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and litigation support. She is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, the Colorado Intellectual Property American Inn of Court, and the International Trademark Association (INTA). Ms. Keene is currently Senior Counsel with Holzer Patel Drennan. EDUCATION: JD – University of Colorado Law School 1987 BSFS, Foreign Service – Georgetown University 1982.
