Apache Kafka Consumer Evolution: KIP-848 and Beyond
Abstract:
The KafkaConsumer has reached a significant milestone with the 4.0 release, delivering substantial improvements. This version represents the first complete implementation of the next-generation Consumer Group Rebalance Protocol from KIP-848. We’ll cover the new architecture, and also go into how the new consumer will bring changes to Kafka Streams via KIP-1071.

Abstract:
After a quick reminder of what Apache ActiveMQ is, we will explore where ActiveMQ use is key in mission critical scenarios and how mixing Apache Kafka and ActiveMQ together is the perfect and multi-purpose solution. We will also see what’s coming in the ActiveMQ roadmap.
Bio:
JB is Director of the Apache Software Foundation, and member of the foundation for 15+ years. He’s PMC member on more than 20 Apache projects (Apache ActiveMQ, Apache Beam, Apache Camel, Apache Polaris, …). He’s also Open Source Architect at Dremio.
